Advanced Placement

Advanced Placement

Our school has been offering the AP Program since 2004.Advanced Program (AP) provides students with an opportunity for learning that goes beyond just facts and figures.  The rich course material, classroom discussions and demanding assignments typical of AP course will help students develop the knowledge and critical thinking skills expected of college students.  To learn more about AP courses and exams, visit http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/about.html

WHAT AN AP PROGRAM CAN DO FOR YOU:

  • AP helps students develop better study habits, improve writing skills and sharpen problem solving abilities. This builds confidence to tackle the academic challenges that are expected in college.
  • Entering college with AP credits give you time to move into upper-level courses in your field of interest, pursue a double major, or study/travel abroad.
  • Research consistently shows that students who are successful in AP typically experience greater academic success in college than similar students who do not participate in AP.
  • Each September, the College Board recognizes high school students who have demonstrated exemplary college-level achievement with AP Scholar Awards. While there is no monetary award from College Board, AP Scholar Awards further strengthen the college admission portfolio. For further information about award criteria, go to http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/scholarawards.html

AP classes are conducted after school hours. The schedule is determined based on the mutual convenience of the AP tutor and the students. Registration for AP classes is from April to June. The exam is conducted in following May. AP scores are reflected on our school’s Grade Transcript once the course is audited and approved by College Board.
